Here's a chance for you to hear the flavor differences between the Barker Fretted and the Fretless (or lined fretless). These recordings were done at Soundsmith Studios in Bend, Oregon (Thanks Clay!). The Fretless is strung with LaBella Black Tapewounds; the Fretted with LaBella Deep Talkin Bass Lights. Voice 1 is three scales done on the fretless, Voice 2 is the fretted. The better your computer speakers, the clearer you'll hear the subtle differences. Could this be your excuse to go buy a subwoofer outfit?
